At Dr Kay Teddy Hospital, every teddy bear has a story — and every repair is carried out with care, compassion and respect for the special memories they hold.

For many people, a much-loved teddy is far more than a toy. It may have been a treasured childhood companion, a gift from someone special, or a comforting friend that has been part of a family for generations. When these precious companions become worn, damaged or in need of some tender loving care, I provide sympathetic repairs to help bring them back to life while preserving the character, charm and memories that make each one unique.

With many years of experience caring for and repairing much-loved bears and soft toys, I carefully assess each patient and determine the most sympathetic way to restore them. This may include repairing seams, replacing or restoring worn features, carefully cleaning, re-stuffing, repairing or replacing eyes and noses, or carrying out more extensive restoration where needed.

My aim is never to make an old bear look brand new. Instead, I work to preserve the personality and history of each treasured companion, keeping as much of the original bear as possible and making repairs that are gentle, thoughtful and appropriate to its age and condition.

Every bear that comes to the Teddy Hospital is treated as an individual, with patience, kindness and the understanding that they are often carrying a lifetime of memories.
